EDI Summer Learning Series: UBC Relationship with the Host Nation Campus Walk

Fipke Centre (FIP), 3247 University Way, Kelowna, BC, V1V 1V7, Canada

The Okanagan Nation’s history with UBC dates back to the inception of this campus in 2005. Join Indigenous Programs and Services and the Equity and Inclusion Office on an interactive journey through the evolving relationship with UBC and the unique programming offered at UBC Okanagan.
We will begin in FIP 139 with an opportunity to connect and for a short presentation to provide background information about the Syilx Okanagan Nation Alliance and UBC Okanagan. During the walk, we will visit several locations on campus that hold historical context for UBC’s relationship with the Okanagan Nation. The walk portion will take approximately 35 to 45 minutes.
Please remember to dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes as we will be walking across campus.
Hosted by: Naim Cardinal, Educational Facilitator for Indigenous Programs and Services
Please note that light snacks and refreshments will be provided. We have limited spots available. Please only register if you are able to attend the entire session.
